He had spotted her black Nissan in his driveway on a surveillance camera. The car was gone by the time officers arrived. At 6:37 p.m., the 55-year-old man called again to say she had returned. This time, officers found the woman still parked in the driveway. Police learned she had been warned on Aug. 21 after a similar incident at the home. He reported that five counterfeit checks had been written against his bank account. It appeared that a check he wrote for a past payment had been copied and used to create the fakes. The man needed a police report to be reimbursed for the loss. Detectives will investigate. Firearms Loaded Pistol Found in Center Console During Traffic Stop (Oct. 15) An officer stopped a silver Ford Taurus at 12:13 a.m. on westbound Solon Road near Aurora Road. The car’s rear license plate light was not working. While speaking with the 18-year-old driver, the officer noticed the smell of suspected marijuana. When asked about weapons, the driver said there was a gun in the car. He also admitted to smoking marijuana about three hours before driving. A search turned up a loaded semi-automatic pistol in the center console. Officers also found a clear bag of suspected marijuana. Both items were confiscated. The driver said the gun belonged to his brother, who also drives the car. No one else was in the vehicle at the time. The Cleveland man was arrested and taken to Solon Jail. Charges include improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony. He also faces a minor misdemeanor charge of marijuana possession for being under 21. His eyes were bloodshot and glossy, and his speech was slow. A smell of alcohol was coming from the vehicle. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests. The 49-year-old Chagrin Falls man was arrested and taken to Solon Jail. After he refused a breath test, his license was placed under administrative suspension. He was charged with OVI. More evidence turned up as the vehicle was being towed. An officer noticed a Monster energy drink in the cupholder that smelled of alcohol. His eyes were bloodshot and his speech was slurred. Field sobriety tests went poorly. The 25-year-old Ravenna man was arrested and taken to Solon Jail. A breath test showed a blood alcohol concentration of .141 percent, well above Ohio’s legal limit of .08. His license was suspended.
